Deborah R. Baird

Dana, Ind. - Deborah R. Baird, 63, of rural Dana, passed away at 9:24 a.m. EST Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her residence.

She was born March 21, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Dr. Lawrence and Gladys Langlois DeRenne. She married Lewis "Lonis" Baird on August 31, 1975 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2004.

Survivors include four daughters, Dawn(Harold)Newnum of Kingman, Indiana; Gidget(Russell)Hall of Newport, Indiana; Suzie(Webb)Crouch of Hillsdale, Indiana and Renne(Chad)Pugh of Newport, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Amy and Daniel Newnum; Rusty and Wyatt Hall; Adam and Haley Crouch; Dillon and Hannah Pugh; one sister, Glaurie Bacon of Rockville, Indiana and one brother, Dr. Lawrence A.(Marie)DeRenne of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one sister, Candy Woodson.

Deborah was a retired school bus driver for the North Vermillion School Corporation. She attended the Newport United Methodist Church. Deborah was a 1968 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a member and current President of the Newport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 184, Newport Bunco Club, Women's Democratic Club and was currently serving as Precinct Committeeman for Vermillion II. Deborah enjoyed crocheting, reading and singing in the church choir. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services: 5 p.m. EST Sunday, November 13, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Ramona Trover; Visitation: 2 p.m. EST Sunday, November 13, 2011 until time of services at the funeral home.
