Obituary

Cayuga, Ind. - Leslie Wayne Peterson, 68, of Cayuga, passed away at 4:31 p.m. CDT Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

He was born August 26, 1953 in Danville, Illinois the son of Bertie J. and Marie Jane (Pearman) Peterson.

Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy (Ross) Peterson.

Survivors include his children: Nickie (Seth) McLain of Veedersburg, Indiana; Lesley (Danny) Keyes of Brownsburg, Indiana and Jacob (Kylee) Peterson of Montezuma, Indiana; his mother: Marie J. Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Leslie was preceded in death by his father; daughter: Sarah L. Carpenter and sister: Louella M. Peterson.

Leslie worked for forty plus years at the former Colonial Brick Company in Cayuga. He attended North Vermillion High School. Leslie enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, mushrooming, playing his guitar and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services: 4 p.m. EDT Monday, April 4, 2022 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor John Goldfuss; Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. EDT Monday, April 4, 2022 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following services and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
