Obituary

Cayuga, Ind. - Martha Louise Dunkerly, 93, of Cayuga, passed away at 11:24 a.m. EST Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born February 9, 1927 in Spencer, Indiana the daughter of the late George and Daisy (Buzzard) Parkhurst.

Martha first married Jack Williams. She later married Carl Joe Dunkerly on July 15, 1951 in Dana, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1978.

Survivors include her children: Suzanne (Robert) Kunkle of Perrysville, Indiana; Debbie Dunkerly of Cayuga, Indiana; Rhonda (David) Arrasmith of Cayuga, Indiana; Sharon (Brian) Freeman of Veedersburg, Indiana and Mike Williams of Carbondale, Illinois; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son: Brian Jay Dunkerly; one sister: Mary Francis Cessinger and two brothers, Harvey and Albert Parkhurst.

Martha for many years was the Eugene Township Trustee. She formerly attended the Cayuga Christian Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Spencer High School. Martha enjoyed quilting, baking, making doughnuts and being with her family and friends, especially her special ''Group".

Graveside services and burial: 11 a.m. EST Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana; Officiating: Ashton Stewart. Visitation: Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. EST at the Cayuga Christian Church, 406 South Logan Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928. Due to the current Governor Mandate's and per the family's request, face coverings will be required. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
