Dana, Ind. - Connie Sue McConnell, 73, of Dana, passed away at 2:39 p.m. EST Sunday, February 17, 2019 at her residence.
Connie was born May 13, 1945 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Marlon Franklin and Pauline Louisa (Conrad) Homan.
Connie first married Mick Haggerty. She later married Larry McConnell in 1985. Larry preceded her in death in May 2014.
Survivors include three daughters: Tonya VanSant (Kevin) of Cayuga, Indiana; Lisa Bey (Chris) of Danville, Illinois; and Susan Phenicie of Ridge Farm, Illinois. One son: Curtis Haggerty (Michelle) of Copper Mountain, Colorado. One step-daughter: Mindy Taylor (Benny) of Indianola, Illinois; two step-sons: Eric McConnell of Dana, Indiana and Jason McConnell (Tasha) of Lodi, Indiana; four sisters: Sonja Adams of Cayuga, Indiana; Linda Bennett (Mike) of Eugene, Indiana; Diana Peterson of Eugene, Indiana and Julia Ellis (Craig) of Aho, Arizona; one brother: Marlon "Jerry" Homan (Sharon) of Clinton, Indiana. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Don Homan.
Connie was employed with Dormeyer in Rockville and later worked at Wright's Ice Cream in Cayuga. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cayuga. Connie enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, raising flowers and spending time outside under her oak tree. She loved her dog Hank, enjoyed going to church and reading her bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her special friends: Jan Bonomo; Connie Stratton and Mark Adams. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. EST Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Assembly of God Church, 4719 North Elm Tree Road, Cayuga, Indiana 47928; Burial: Eugene Cemetery, Eugene Indiana; Visitation: Noon EST Saturday February 23, 2019 until time of services at the church. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
